Speech Language Therapy

A Speech & Language Pathologist treats speech delays, language/communicative disorders and swallowing/feeding difficulties.  A speech delay might be present when a child is not meeting typical developmental milestones pertaining to the production of speech sounds. A language/communicative disorder is present when a child is not meeting typical developmental milestones pertaining to the ability to understand and use language to protest, request or comment.  Our experienced Speech & Language Pathologists first begin by assessing the child’s current functioning level and then providing a treatment plan which incorporates existing goals in a child-centered family-oriented friendly environment. All of our clinicians work closely with the family as well as other disciplines (occupational and physical therapy) to gain a whole child perspective and to determine the optimum service needs for each child.
