Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy touches upon a child’s activities in all areas of life, such as playing, bathing, eating, writing, academic activities, dressing etc.  Additionally, occupational therapy addresses psychological, social and environmental factors that affect a child’s ability to function.  Besides working on a child’s fine motor skills (i.e. grasping, cutting, lacing), an occupational therapist also addresses eye-hand coordination, visual-perceptual skills (how the child perceived visual stimuli), attention difficulties related to sensory processing dysfunction, and central auditory processing skills.
