Counseling
Counseling is defined broadly in terms of cognitive-behavioral intervention. Counseling intervention focuses on changing thoughts, perceptions, images and emotions that are believed to be the cause of negative behaviors. Counseling therapy seeks to change the underlying conditions in order to change unwanted behaviors. Therapy may include desensitization training, cognitive restructuring, rational-emotive therapy, problem-solving training, coping skill training and self-control training.
